That Daddy

Imagine if you will.....

A living room full of toys, shluffed off clothing, throw pillows...thrown, shoes, and various items scattered like a mine field.

Imagine the mother of this household telling her family, "Ok guys, we're going to clean up before we go upstairs for bed. Everyone pick up 5 things."

Imagine the father, laying on the couch, feet up, beer in hand and he thinks his part in all this is to sing. "Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up, Daddy doesn't really care." (as in, I'm gonna sit here and sing, but you guys have fun with that cleaning.)

And imagine that the mother actually thinks this is funny. Maybe that's why he gets away with it. Or maybe it's because he saw how hard the mommy had worked all day & finished dinner when he got home from work, rubbed her shoulders, and let her take a bubble bath at 7pm. Then the daddy can get away with whatever he wants to.

I was right there with you until you got to the bubble bath and shoulder rub part. Dang, where have I gone wrong?

Uh yeah, shoulder rub? Bubble bath? What are those? I'd say he can get away with whatever he wants! :)

I could only wish. My hubby would have skipped the shoulders, dinner and any thing else that involves helping me and he would have kept his happy ass on the couch and watched us clean. Some days he really pisses me off!

But then again he also does "fun" stuff with the kids. Stop by and check out the most recent post to see what I'm talking about!!!

I guess he earned a freebie from picking up tonight.

I like imagining all that but mostly getting a shoulder massage. I sure could use one.

I’m the same way…Jerry can erase a whole week of his “manly disorders” just by being sweet and considerate one time. (Irritates the hell out of me! lol)

Man I can totally SEE this going on in your living room! J would have joined in with your hubby.

Isn't it funny what we let them get away with after they give us a back rub?

I hope he always does his part so you have some 'me' time.

Totally TOTALLY laughed! I sing that song with Corbs when he does his chores (read: picks up his toys) only I change the last part to 'C'mon Corban do your share!"

Yay for daddy for being awesome. AND funny. ;-)
