Just me?

Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

I seem to have three different bags that I constantly need, and yet, my stuff is never in the right place. First bag: Diaper bag. This is the bag that I send my son to Stay & Play with, church nursery with, Mom's Morning Out... The stuff that is just his. None of my coupons, wallet, gum attached.

Second bag: The combo. The diaper/purse bag. The one that holds his crap with mine thrown on top. This one is for grocery stores, play dates, restaurants... etc.

Third bag: The actual adult purse. The very few times that I get to feel like a woman and not a mom. This holds my stupid stuff that I really don't need, but think I might. Like:safety pins, sharpies, gum, wallet, hair brush.... lipstick....

My problem is that I can never seem to get all the things I need in the right place at the right time. I leave him at Mom's Morning Out, only to discover when I pick him up, that I didn't leave but 1 diaper. And 2 poops later they are giving me the old stink eye. Or my personal favorite was when I went grocery shopping & reach in the diaper bag for my wallet & have to tell the lady it's in my "other diaper bag" out in the car. I then RUN through the store for it, looking all kinds of crazy.

I can not wait for the day that I can stop the madness. It's enough to drive me insane. Does anyone else feel this stress? Any suggestions, you know, besides, "Shut up Lady and just check your bag before you leave the house to make sure you have everything you need." That's not a good suggestion, my husband tried that one, he's limping today. I'm just saying, you don't want to go there.

I just have the 2 bags (diaper bag and adult purse), my adult purse gets used on date nights (mostly) when I want to feel normal, but I feel like I am missing something when all I have is a wallet and lip gloss! My diaper bag is what I carry everywhere even when I get to run to the store by myself!!!! Then I feel kinda silly carrying around diapers and no kids! Don't know what to tell you - it's not just you!! :) - Rebecca

My advice...hang in there. He's around 2, right? With any luck...and I mean you're gonna need luck...well, you'll also need a towel or 100, definitely need some carpet cleaner, maybe a billion or so pairs of big boy underwear, a truck load of m & m's, forget Job...you'll need the patience of Jesus himself and then enough wine to start your own winery...he'll be potty trained soon and you'll only need the one bag! Originally that was supposed to be encouraging...sorry!

I have a ginormous tote that I can basically fit the baby in - it is a bag for all my bags - but it doesn't help me make sure they are actually full of supplies. That is my husbands job.

It seems like it's been many moons since I carried a diaper bag...but I was the same way.
Now I'm so over paranoid about not having my wallet/debit card, that I always check before leaving the car to make sure I have it. I'm almost OCD about it to a point that I check 2 or 3 times just to double make sure it didn't vanish in thin air in the last 5 minutes.

I can remember those days well. I will have to admit that I don't use a purse at all...ever. I find a fanny pack works so much better and I am so not a "girly" girl. So I always kept my things in the fanny pack and threw it in the diaper bag when I was out with the little ones.

I have one diaper bag for both the kids, since they go everywhere together. I have a purse that I carry all of the time. Once the diapers are gone, it gets a little easier I guess. Then you just have to carry extra clothes for accidents!!!

I couldn't agree more! I also have all 3 bags! The one when my son goes somewhere without me, the one I take everywhere with the kids...like the mall, Target, Park...and the third, the Mommy purse (which honestly gets used far less often than the other 2!) I get so frustrated with feeling so unorganized and wish there was an easier way! I just don't think I can make it any easier (:

And, on a brighter note...be happy you forget extra diapers and not your son, LOL!

I have taken to using simply a oversized adult purse. I can toss anything and everything in it. There are always some toys, and snacks. After my last kiddo was born I discovered diapees and wipees. They are these little cloth containers that hold about two or three diapers(depending on the size) and a package of travel wipes. Whenever I leave the boy anywhere I just leave the diapees and wipees. Anything else I just find uneccessary. I usually just toss my wallet in the bag and on my rare night out I just carry this same bag but a little less full. This was a great idea for a post, I may have to do one like this soon!

Oh I have the same problem!!!! It drives me nuts. I am always forgetting things in one bag or another. I totally sympathize with you!

I, too, carry an oversized adult purse. Very stylish of course. I mean they really have some great styles now for big purses. and I can put everything in there. My two-year-old no longer takes a bottle so that's a few less things I have to worry about. I put a few diapers in there, some travel wipes, snacks, a toy or two, and a sippy cup. And of course I have my own gazillion necessities in there.

I no longer carry a diaper bag (thank goodness), however I have a serious mom-purse! I carry everything - except for food and a change of clothes. I have every medication known to man, hair products, gum, mints, camera, wipes, etc.

And I always find that I'm missing something - usually when my daughter has a pee pee accident.

I have two bags, my diaper bag and my purse. I only carry one bag at a time so after forgetting to move stuff over to the other bag, like you mentioned, I finally put the important stuff into smaller organizing bags so that it is easy to transfer. I bought the bags at http://lazyorganizer.com/bags/ and they are wonderful. I fill a tiny bag with chapstick, lip gloss, eye drops, nail clippers, and a mini nail file. Then I have two "Just Right" sized bags. I put 2-3 diapers, wipes, a onesie, jammies, and a plastic bag in one bag. I put feeding items including: jar of food, baby spoon, bib, snack, small jar with 3 scoops of formula, bottle (with pre-measured water), and a binky in the other bag. If I am leaving the baby with a friend for a short time, sometimes I just pull out the organizing bags to leave instead of leaving the diaper bag full of all my other crap. The only things that I really care about switching over to my purse when I am not taking the baby are the tiny organizing bag with my essentials and my wallet, and my sunglasses case. It has saved me a lot of time and it keeps my diaper bag a lot more organized.

Love it when our phone conversations morph into blog posts!

:-) Throw caution to the wind and just condense it all into one small purse-like-bag.
